Kent Sign South African Pace Bowler Glenton Stuurman for 2026 County Championship Campaign

Kent County Cricket Club have made a significant addition to their bowling ranks ahead of the 2026 County Championship season, securing the services of experienced South African seamer Glenton Stuurman.

The 33-year-old right-arm fast bowler will be available for Kent's first six Championship fixtures, beginning with the season opener against Durham on 3 April and concluding with the return fixture against the same opposition in May.

A Proven First-Class Performer

Stuurman arrives at Canterbury with an impressive first-class pedigree that speaks to his consistency and quality. Across 82 first-class matches, the South African has claimed 277 wickets at a career average of 24.05 – numbers that demonstrate his ability to take wickets regularly at the highest domestic level.

His current form is equally encouraging. Playing for Goldrush Boland in South Africa's domestic competition this season, Stuurman has already claimed 21 wickets, suggesting he will arrive in England with his rhythm and confidence in excellent shape.

International Experience

While predominantly a domestic cricket specialist, Stuurman does possess international experience, having represented South Africa on three occasions – two Test matches and one T20 International appearance. This exposure to the highest level of the game adds valuable experience to Kent's dressing room.
